In 2024, Bloomsburg’s annual ArtFest turns sixteen years old, and we want you to come to the party!

The sixteenth ArtFest will take place on Saturday, the 24th of August, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in its lovely location on the Square in downtown Bloomsburg and down Market Street.

 

This location has great visibility and feels open, friendly, and welcoming, as well as providing shade from the sun; we had at least 3500 attendees in 2023.

As always, ArtFest will showcase regional artists’ original work, accompanied by local food, live music, and activities for people of all ages.  It happens on the last move-in weekend for Bloomsburg University, when we welcome students and the students’ parents and everyone else to our town.  A summertime art party, ArtFest draws families from Bloomsburg and well beyond, and both art and food vendors do well here year after year.  As always, we give preference to returning vendors, but we also always have room for new ones.

 

In 2024, the same as last year, each artist will pay $90 booth fee for a 10x10 space.  (Two artists, each juried in, may share a single booth for $110.)  Food vendors will pay $100, for a standard parking space, about 20x10.  The fee covers the cost of ads in local and regional print and radio outlets, the printing of posters and flyers, and amenities for customers (tables, chairs, and portapotties).  ArtFest is supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency; we use that funding to pay our musicians.

 

We encourage exhibitors to promote the event too, using a postcard mailing and/or social media and/or any other means that they feel familiar with. 
 

If you would like to show and sell at ArtFest, please e-mail 3-5 jpeg images of your work to Exchange@ExchangeArts.org and mail a signed copy of the application to The Exchange at 24 East Main Street, Bloomsburg PA 17815, no later than Friday, May 24th, 2024.  After receiving an acceptance notification from ArtFest via e-mail or phone (no later than Friday, May 31st, 2024), participating artists MUST submit the booth fee in the form of a check payable to “The Exchange” no later than Friday, June 28th, 2024.  We will accept no late fees and will reassign any unpaid space(s).

 

Photo specs: jpeg/jpg, each no larger than 1 MB at 200 dpi, no larger than 1920 pixels on the longer side, with the artist’s last name as part of each file name (i.e. “Smith_ceramics1.jpg”); food vendors do not need to provide images but we encourage them to for our promotional purposes.  If you need tips, Google “resizing photos”.
